AU BACKGROUND: Scott grew up in Beacon Hills, California, with a loving mother and a neglectful father, the latter of whom was thankfully out of the picture by the time Scott started high school. Mostly he spent his time playing lacrosse and nosing around and getting into trouble with his best friend Stiles. He managed to land a job at animal clinic, which occupied the rest of his time. Life was pretty uneventful for Scott McCall until a run-in with some sort of escaped hybrid beast monster triggered his mutant powers. Unfortunately, his town was secretly a hotbed of anti-mutant activity. While he managed to evade the local Friends of Humanity gang for a while, eventually a public altercation revealed his secret. His mom panicked and insisted he finish out his high school career in Genosha, although Scott campaigned heavily and unsuccessfully to at least go to the Xavier Institute instead. Maybe his best bud Stiles was shipped off to Genosha along with him HINT HINT
PERSONALITY:
Scott is not, uh, especially well-read. Oftentimes he is a bit slow on the uptake. He hasn't got a lot of academic drive and isn't particularly ambitious, except perhaps in lacrosse. He doesn't always have a smart remark. He likes people and animals and exploring things. Literary and historical allusions tend to go over his head. Where his strengths lie intellectually are in strategizing, planning, and coordinating activities and attacks, often improvising to great effect. He may not always think of everything, but the things he does think of are usually really, really good.
Scott cares about people deeply, and will go to great lengths to save and/or protect them. He may not always answer your phone calls, but that doesn't mean he isn't deeply concerned about your well-being. He is also kind of a big romantic. He believes in things like true love and perfect dates and meant to be. This kind of attentive behavior and emotional investment also shows up in his platonic relationships--he refuses to allow an image-conscious friend's birthday party be ruined by her new reputation for disturbed behavior and mental illness, he pushes his way through a police investigation to check on a close acquaintance, and he is practically reduced to tears when his mom is held up at gunpoint.
He also feels a deep sense of responsibility of the sort p common to teen heroes. He regrets every death and injury he fails to prevent and expresses the belief that he has to save everybody. He doesn't like being on Genosha where he can't protect his friends from weird Marvel shit, and is very firmly planted in the Charles Xavier camp. As soon as he graduates he is headed back to the States to join the X-Men; he is very insistent upon this.
APPEARANCE:
Most of the time Scott is a handsome mixed race boy with big brown eyes and a slightly uneven jawline. Sometimes he is a hilar wolf monster with sideburns and glowing eyes. You know how it is.

Scott is a fairly standard 'lupine;' he has got enhanced senses, animal empathy, and a super strong and agile alternate form with fangs, claws, and hilarious sideburns.
